1. Guests can engage all the senses in the all-new Journey to the Center of the Earth 4D Adventure. Excitement is guaranteed in this condensed version of the popular film as the film’s explorers are plunged into a strange world beneath the Earth’s surface. Fish with razor-sharp teeth and dinosaurs will also be along for the ride.
2. Young and the young at heart can trek through the treetops on the nation’s largest adventure course, Sky Hike. SkyHikers select from a 12 ft. trail for beginners, a 24 ft. trail for the courageous or the 40 ft. trail for the true daredevil. With more than a quarter of a mile course, no two hikes are the same.
3. Families can feed a crowd at Stone Mountain Park’s new Marketplace. This open air-style market provides lots of fresh meal and snack choices. For a lighter course, pick from deli sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola or one of the many baked goods. Heartier meal options include pizza, hamburgers, grilled chicken sandwiches or chicken strips. Ice cream or freshly made fudge round out the offering

TN: National MooFest May 30th
National MooFest is "mooving" into the Friendly City of Athens, Tennessee again this year.
[Note: This happening may not be in Georgia, but it's a fun event we thought you might want to put on your calendar. It's close enough for a nice weekend jaunt.]
MooFest, a celebration of the dairy industry, will be held Saturday, May 30, as a kickoff to June Dairy Month. The day will feature a number of new events and attractions, as well as some staples of last year's successful MooFest, including an ice cream recipe contest, dairy-themed games, and an "udderly" fascinating array of exhibits on the history and practices of the dairy industry.
Events this year will include the ice cream eating contest, "Milkshake Shake," scoop-stacking contest, sundae-making and milk chugging contests.
Those interested in submitting recipes for this year's ice cream recipe contest should get a "moove" on. Submissions need to be postmarked by May 15. Entry forms are available online at www.nationalmoofest.com and at the Mayfield's Visitor Center.
Agriculture demonstrations will be featured, as well as a petting zoo with cows.
"It's a great opportunity for people to learn about the dairy industry in a fun way," said MooFest's Grand Moobah Elaine Newman.
A number of "exciting and interesting" food vendors and a wide array of arts and crafts booths will also be set up around the square, Newman said.
A week-long carnival will open on Tuesday, May 26 and operate through MooFest on the 30th. The carnival will again be located on the downtown greenspace.
Speaking of green, MooFest will be a "green event" this year, and recycling will be promoted, Newman said.
Musical entertainment will be provided on Friday night, May 29, and all day on Saturday, May 30, during MooFest. Friday's entertainment will be provided by groups Blue City Band and Dog & Pony Show. Saturday's musical guests will perform a variety of styles for a variety of tastes, including Mitch Rossell, Sisters of the Silver Sage and local talent Just Us bluegrass band and Carla Jo Carr.
Ventriloquist Ken Karter will also perform throughout Saturday.

Fernbank Museum Announces 90 Days of Dinosaurs
Featuring Activities, Discounts, Special Features and Celebrations All Summer Long!
Fernbank Museum is packing 90 Days of Dinosaurs into this summer’s line-up, combining exhibitions, IMAX® films, events, activities and all things dinosaur into a daily opportunity to celebrate the most popular creatures of prehistoric time. Every day from May 25 through August 22, 2009 will feature a different way to explore more about dinosaurs at Fernbank. Special promotions will also allow visitors to earn “Dinosaur Dollars” that can be redeemed for prizes.
Fernbank’s 90 Days of Dinosaurs kicks off on Memorial Day. Highlights include the grand opening of Fernbank’s new Dinosaur Plaza on May 30, and the Dinosaur Birthday Bash, which concludes the dinosaur festival on August 22. Every day in between features such highlights as Museum Overnights, Stegosaur Patio Picnics, “Rex in the City” exhibition hours during Martinis & IMAX®, scavenger hunts, prehistoric researcher talks, special activities in the Naturalist Center, money-saving Dino Discounts, games, Weekend Wonders “Dino Lab,” the Lost Oasis 2009: Jurassic Jam fundraiser, puppet shows, Dinosaur Dress Code, and more.
“The summer months are a perfect opportunity for Fernbank to fill the long, hot days with a celebration of exciting and engaging activities for children, adults and families,” said Kristy Richardson, Family Programs Specialist at Fernbank Museum. “Dinosaurs capture the imagination, and people always want more! Blockbuster Exhibitions to Remain at the Premier Exhibition Center Through the Beginning of 2010
Due to the tremendous response and sell-out crowds at the Premier Exhibition Center in Atlantic Station organizers have extended the Atlanta run of BODIES . . . The Exhibition and Dialog in the Dark until January 3, 2010. Initially slated to close in March, both Exhibitions have become “must see” experiences amongst Atlanta’s leading attractions.
In a pairing unique to Atlanta, the Exhibitions offer unprecedented educational opportunities that empower and challenge a variety of audiences, ranging from school groups to families. With tens of thousands of visitors thus far, organizers strongly encourage individuals to purchase advance tickets to avoid long lines.
“In three hours I made a commitment to lead a healthier life and understand another’s path just a little bit better. These exhibitions are something I will never forget, that have encouraged me to look at life a bit differently, while enjoying unique quality time with my family,” states Marie Tipany of Cobb County.
